The score somewhat flattered the visitors as four of their five tries were against the run of play from breakouts inside their own half. Geelong led 20-6 at the main break.
Bendigo bounced back in the second and dominated possession, but was unable to breach the Rams’ defence.
Bendigo centre Phil Keech was outstanding in attack with two impressive line breaks. Lack of support meant both breaks went unrewarded on the score sheet.
The score was still 20-6 when play went into injury time, but Geelong scored two late tries to extend the margin.
The Manchester Arms player of the day award went to skipper Blake Theunissen. Others to show out were Keech, David Mcdonald, prop Nick Walls and winger Masina Maele.
Next Saturday, the Miners are at home to the Shepparton Bulls.
