Leading Senior Constable Peter Dyer said police were regularly called to the intersection of Nelson Street and Sandhurst Road in California Gully.
He believed stop signs were not enough to stop some motorists from driving through the intersection.
“It’s only going to get busier with the estates out in Eaglehawk,” LSC Dyer said.
The two-car crash shortly after 1pm today occurred when the driver of a green Mitsubishi Lancer failed to give way and was hit by a car travelling north on Sandhurst Road.
No one was injured.
Neighbours who observed a crash at the site last Tuesday said they were sick and tired of incidents outside their front doors.
