Sandhurst’s thrilling six-point win over Strathfieldsaye saw the Storm drop from first to third on the table.
Kangaroo Flat sits on top of the ladder on percentage from Sandhurst, Strathfieldsaye and Sandhurst Marist Dockers.
At the QEO, Sandhurst rallied from a three-point three quarter-time deficit to beat the Storm, 7.4 (46) to 6.4 (40).
Kangaroo Flat overcame a slow start to defeat Golden Square by 41 points at Dower Park.
The Roos trailed Square by 11 points at the first break before they dominated the final three quarter to win 14.8 (92) to 7.9 (51).
Sandhurst Marist Dockers also made a slow start before overpowering South Bendigo.
The Dockers kicked eight goals to two after quarter time as they cruised to a 10.13 (73) to 5.5 (35) victory.
Sandhurst and Kyneton were impressive winners in the two under-14 senior games on Sunday.
The Dragons set up their 53-point win over Strathfieldsaye with a barnstorming 11-goal to one first half.
The Storm rallied in the second half to outscore Sandhurst 5.6 to 4.1, but the Dragons prevailed 15.6 (96) to 6.7 (43).
Kyneton retained top spot on the ladder after it beat Golden Square by 61 points.
The Tigers’ defence was in superb form in the 11.9 (75) to 3.6 (24) victory.
In the under-12A division, Maiden Gully YCW Eagles defeated Castlemaine by four points in a thriller.
The Eagles didn’t kick a goal in the first half before storming home to win 6.7 (43) to 6.3 (39).
St Francis, Strathfieldsaye and St Therese’s remain the top three teams in under-12A after they scored impressive wins on the weekend.
After a tight first half, St Francis proved too good for Kyneton.
St Francis only led by one goal at half-time before adding six goals to one after the main break to win 8.6 (54) to 2.3 (15).
Wayward kicking cost Strathfieldsaye a bigger margin its 56-point win over Eaglehawk.
The Storm won 9.16 (70) to 2.2 (14).
St Therese’s overcame a gallant Quarry Hill by 35 points, 9.5 (59) to 3.6 (24).
In under-18 youth girls action, the closest match of the round was at Tannery Lane where South Bendigo upset Strathfieldsaye by 13 points.
The Bloods produced their best performance of the season to win 3.2 (20) to 1.1 (7).
The other three games were lopsided. Top team Woorinen outclassed Kyneton, 17.10 (112) to 0.0 (0), Kangaroo Flat proved too strong for Castlemaine 16.8 (104) to 3.1 (19) and Golden Square had the better of North Bendigo 8.13 (61) to 1.1 (7).
A two-point thriller between Golden Square and Kyneton was the highlight of the under-15 youth girls. The Tigers won an enthralling battle, 4.1 (25) to 3.5 (23).
After an even first half, Sandhurst powered away from Eaglehawk to win 11.4 (70) to 3.5 (23). The final game of the round was a whitewash, with Strathfieldsaye defeating Kangaroo Flat by 203 points.
