Police were called to Averys Road in Eaglehawk about 11.30pm last night after a passer-by reported a crash.
When police arrived, they found the car had crashed into a tree and a fence at the Neangar Park Golf Club.
Sergeant Steve Cunningham said the 42-year-old driver was uninjured and was taken back to the Bendigo Police Station where he blew 0.18 in a preliminary breath test.
The man had his licence suspended and will be summonsed to court at a later date.
Sergeant Cunningham said it followed another two low-level drink-drivers being caught at night this week.
“It seems like there’s a little bit of an increase in recent times,” he said.
“It just shows people aren’t concentrating on consumption of alcohol prior to driving.”
Sergeant Cunningham said drink- and drug-driving was a significant cause of fatal crashes in Victoria and people should be aware of the amount they drink before getting behind the wheel.
Swan Hill police also attended a single-vehicle car crash early this morning at Lalbert.
The crash happened on the Donald-Swan Hill Road just before 4am.
Sergeant Robin McDonald said the car rolled but the sole occupant was uninjured.
He said police were investigating as to whether fatigue was a possible cause.
The Gisborne Fire Brigade is also reporting another car crash overnight, this time on the Bacchus Marsh Road:
