Firefighters were called to the address mid-afternoon after some stray oil on a car’s engine block led residents to fear for the worst, but brigade members quickly brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, young Zaviah was unconcerned by the false alarm, jumping at the chance for a tour of the truck with his local fire brigade.
After returning to the station, Eaglehawk Fire Brigade captain Hayden Allen took to social media to praise his offsider for going the extra mile out in their community.
“Some times we don't just fight the fire then go home!” Mr Allen wrote.
“Today whilst attending an incident lieutenant Duncan Jack Murley took the time to show this little boy around our fire truck and show off all our equipment.
“The little boy did not care that his mum had called the brigade for a smoke scare but more to the point TWO BIG RED TRUCKS arrived out the front.
“The brigade love showing our BIG RED TRUCKS off to any little or big kid when we get the opportunity.”
