Two days after co-coach Corey Greer announced his playing career was in jeopardy because of a displaced vertebral disc in his upper spine, the Roos face second-placed Golden Square at Wade Street on Saturday.
The Roos have lost their past 33 encounters with the Bulldogs dating back to 2001 and it’s hard to see them snapping that streak.
The Bulldogs don’t have their best team available, but they still should have too much class and depth for the young Roos.
Square key forward Travis Baird is enjoying a brilliant season and, with Roos’ key defender Trent McInnes still sidelined, Flat doesn’t appear to have a suitable match-up for the aggressive forward.
At the other end of the ground, it’s hard to see the Roos’ key forwards being able to kick a winning score against Golden Square’s miserly defence.
