Perhaps it has come to pass, in 2017, that Dinkum Aussie-Battler kids are “in danger of being swamped by the disabled, and that we now have a situation where a type of ‘reverse discrimination’ is applied to mainstream Australians by those who promote political correctness and those who control the various tax-payer funded ‘industries’ that flourish in servicing the disabled”.

Cats’ treatment unethical
It sounds like a bad joke. The woman who boasted on Facebook that she had killed three kittens with a bow and arrow called herself a "cat lover"!
These cats, according to the RSPCA, would have suffered severe pain over several minutes due to the high level of tissue trauma and damage to organs.
Shooting animals with a bow and arrow is unethical, and also an ineffective method of limiting populations.
In fact, culling has repeatedly been shown to lead to an increase in the number of animals present, as it creates a more suitable habitat for increased reproduction.
Humane, long-term population-control techniques such as immunocontraception do exist. Injuring and killing animals will never restore balance to the natural environment.
The only reasonable solution is either to make the land itself inhospitable to the animals or to work on controlling animal populations by reducing their fertility.
Cats become feral because lazy humans fail to desex them and then dump them when they get pregnant.
Compulsory desexing of companion animals is the first step to solving this problem.
People getting their kicks with lethal weapons is not the answer.

Put politicians to the test
Our Prime Minister and Minister Peter Dutton insist international English language testing system (IELTS) level 6 will be the language level required for Australian citizenship.
This is despite evidence this level was never designed for immigrants but as a level required by foreign students to enter Australian universities.
Let us see if our esteemed PM and Minister Dutton can answer the following questions on grammar rules that IELTS6 candidates need to know:
- Do you know how to put verbs in the right tense and aspect?
- What is the difference between simple past and present perfect verb tenses?
- How is the past perfect different from the present perfect?
- Is the past participle the 1st, 2nd or 3rd form of the verb?
- When would you use modal verbs?
- What is the difference between the definite article and indefinite article?
- When would you use a comparative instead of a superlative?
- When do adjectives use three or more syllables?
- When “y” follows a consonant why would it change to “er” or “est” and what are some exceptions to the rule?
If they and anyone else fail the test, should their citizenship be revoked or is this another example of government incompetence?

A good education for all
Enough of the political arguments about public schools taking money from Catholic schools.
It would be more helpful for taxpayers to see that each student is given the same educational opportunities.
If I am an atheist from a poor family, should I be denied access to quality education?
It is time public education was funded appropriately.
