The blitz was carried out on Monday in Newstead and Tuesday in Maryborough with automatic number plate technology used at both sites.
Leading Senior Constable Grant Kendall said 583 number plates were scanned on Monday, and more than 700 on Tuesday.
More than 600 preliminary breath tests were also conducted, with no drivers returning a blood alcohol concentration above 0.05.
“Most people were really good,” Leading Senior Constable Kendall said.
One driver tested positive for amphetamines via a roadside test and was taken back to the station.
Other offences detected included eight unroadworthy vehicles; four unregistered vehicles; three unlicensed drivers; and eight penalty notices issued for offences relating to seatbelts and trailers.
The last operation was held in partnership with the Sheriff’s Office, which uncovered more than 30 fine evaders with 153 outstanding warrants valued at more than $64,000.
Leading Senior Constable Kendall said the operations were a regular occurrence in the goldfields area.
“It’s pretty successful each time we do it,” he said.
