Mount Alexander Sustainability Group chair Mary Blain said the event would be an opportunity for local groups to gain further support for their projects.
“The event will also demonstrate that it takes an integrated effort to address waste issues, and MASG is working across community sectors to work towards a zero waste future as part of the Zero Net Emissions 2025 target,” she said.
Speakers include councillor Bronwen Machin, Chris Hooper, who will talk about the surging success of the global repair café movement and Bill Grant, who will share his knowledge about organic waste recovery, bioenergy and soil restoration.
Hearty soup will be available for $10.
