A loss last week to Pyramid Hill has relegated the Mean Machine to fourth spot on the ladder, their lowest ranking this season.
They trail the Bulldogs on percentage, both having played second-placed Newbridge twice, but with games to come against Mitiamo.
While Allen acknowledged anything could happen in matches involving other teams, she would prefer her side's top-three fate remained in their own hands, starting against the top-placed Superoos.
The Mean Machine got within eight goals of the premiership favourite when they last met in April, the closest any team has got to Mitiamo this season, with the exception of a one-goal loss to Pyramid Hill.
Allen declared her side fully fit and ready for a tough contest at John Forbes Oval.
"We come in as underdogs, but we have brought (the challenge) up to some of the top teams," she said.
"Obviously Mitiamo's goaling area is awesome with the likes of Laura Hicks, who is such a great player.
"The key is to keep her as quiet as possible and intercept the ball before it gets into the ring as she is such an accurate shooter."
Bridgewater has some strength of its own at the attacking end of the court end, where Olivia Treloar and Leah Sartori have combined well all season.
"They are gelling really well, which is great considering both are only new to the A-grade team this year," Allen said.
"The whole team is getting along nicely, which makes it a fun time on and off the court.
"That shows in our netball, with everyone getting along so well our netball is flowing a lot nicer."
Allen, who is in her first year as A-grade coach, said it was disappointing to drop last week's game, but paid full credit to the Bulldogs for a top effort.
"They are a really top class team, we just couldn't convert our passes," she said.
"It wasn't our best game, which in a way was good, as it means if we do play our best we can challenge these top teams."
It was business as usual for coach Jenny Clohesy and her Superoos, who defeated Newbridge 60-33 last week, and are back at full-strength after some early season injury woes.
In other weekend games, Maiden Gully YCW clashes with Calivil United, Inglewood hosts a rebounding Newbridge, and Pyramid Hill faces Marong.
Bears Lagoon-Serpentine has the bye.
