Police are hunting a thief who targeted an unsuspecting punter inside a Castlemaine hotel.

On March 15, a man momentarily walked away from a poker machine he was playing, beside which he left a backpack.
When he returned about 8.40pm on 15 March, his backpack was gone.
Police wish to speak with another man who was playing a poker machine to the bag owner’s left, saw the bag unattended and moved it to the floor.
He then left the venue with the bag.
The wanted man is described as Caucasian, aged in his 20s, with dark hair and tattoos on his right forearm.
He was wearing a white cap with a grey peak, grey t-shirt, light coloured pants and white shoes.
Police did not disclose the name of the hotel.
