Quarry Hill Cafe and Larder’s Greg Harris received a call from police at 5am on Monday, alerting him to the fact his store had been “ransacked” again.
CCTV footage captured an unknown offender breaking into the Carpenter Street business early on Friday morning and again on Monday morning.
On Friday, the offender broke in by kicking in the door and then proceeded to rifle through cupboards.
Mr Harris said when he couldn’t find anything, the offender stole a bottle of Coke from the drink fridge and a tray of croissants, before leaving through the door.
On Monday morning, Mr Harris was confronted with a similar situation.
“Our paper delivery guy noticed glass smashed in the front door and notified police,” he said.
“Being in hospitality you often think you’re a target to get broken into for cash – but we don’t keep anything on site.”
Nothing was stolen in Monday morning’s break-in but Mr Harris is now looking at a $600 bill to replace the glass in the door, after already paying for a replacement lock to the first door on Friday.
He said the two break-ins had put an extra strain on the business.
“Now we’re behind the eight ball trying to catch up,” Mr Harris said.
“It really is a pain – and the concern for the staff that someone has done that and to have it happen again.”
