Ladder leaders defeat Bendigo City

NINETEEN games into the National Premier Leagues 2 West season, Bendigo City remains without a win.

An 8-2 loss to Melbourne City FC has left Bendigo City with a solitary point courtesy of an early season draw with Werribee City.

Their task of avoiding relegation was made even more difficult on the weekend following Werribee City's 1-nil win over the Goulburn Valley Suns.

The second-last placed Bees now hold an 18 point advantage over Bendigo City as its closest rival.

City's search for a win leads to a home clash against Sunshine George Cross at Epsom Huntly Recreation Reserve next Saturday at 5pm.

Sunshine George Cross defeated City 3-0 in their earlier season contest in round four and enter the match on a high after a 2-0 victory over Box Hill United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bendigo City had no answers for top NPL2 East side Melbourne City, succumbing 8-0.
