Sunday’s match at the QEO against Whitehorse is being billed as “Pink Day at the Q” in support of breast cancer awareness.
The Thunder will wear pink socks, pink armbands and use a pink football.
“It’s a big cause to try to support given most people know somebody who has been or is going through breast cancer,” Thunder coach Cherie O’Neill said.
“It’s fantastic that we are able to do our little bit to raise awareness and show support.”
The Thunder goes into Sunday’s match undefeated at 7-0, with the team including Yasmin Colley playing her first senior game for the club.
It’s fantastic that we are able to do our little bit to raise awareness and show support.
- Cherie O'Neill, coach
Sunday’s game starts at 3pm and will follow the TAC Cup match between the Bendigo Pioneers and Geelong Falcons.
