Detectives have released new CCTV footage in the investigation into the death of Karen Ristevski.
Mrs Ristevski was reported missing on June 30 last year and was last seen alive at her Avondale Heights home on the morning of June 29. Her body was found in bushland at Mount Macedon in February this year.
Missing Persons Squad detectives have identified a vehicle of interest, a black Mercedes Benz SLK coupe, which was seen in the Diggers Rest area on June 29.
Police have released CCTV footage of the Mercedes travelling north-west along the Old Calder Highway and crossing the Diggers Rest railway crossing, near the Diggers Rest Railway Station, about 11.12am that day.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle in Diggers Rest or the surrounding areas that day to contact Crime Stoppers.
The vehicle is fitted with Mercedes Benz manufactured 5 spoke alloy wheels.
Detectives are also calling for anyone else who recognises other vehicles seen in the footage to contact Crime Stoppers. Police have already spoken to the registered owners of similar vehicles but there are a small number of owners that still need to be spoken to.
Any owners or drivers of black 2004 to 2006 Mercedes Benz coupes, who have not yet been approached, are urged to contact police.
Detectives also want to speak to people who may have been in the Diggers Rest, Gisborne or the Mount Macedon areas – particularly near the Macedon Regional Park, Mount Macedon Golf Club and/or Mount Macedon Road.
Anyone who was in those areas about midday on June 29, 2016, and who may have seen a vehicle matching the above description is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
Anyone with any information whatsoever is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
