The BSE Strings section along with some percussionists taught children as young as two the basics of rhythm and beat before playing music for them.
Students have been working with musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to put the performance together.
Cushion Concerts have been supported by Creative Victoria and are presented by the City of Greater Bendigo.
One is held every month so pre school-aged children can be introduced to a variety of styles of music in a welcoming and friendly environment.
Children are encouraged to move around and ask questions during the show.
The next Cushion Concert is on at The Capital on Tuesday, July 18, at 10.30am.
It will feature musicians from Orchestra Victoria introducing children to classical music.
