The Southern Stars leave for England on Saturday amid a backdrop of tension between united male and female players and their employer, Cricket Australia, over a new memorandum of understanding.

Player anger resurfaced on Thursday night when CA's lead negotiator Kevin Roberts emailed another video to players outlining what the governing body claims are faults in the Australian Cricketers Association pay submission.

This has angered players in two ways - through the claims made and by sending the video directly to each player, rather than through the ACA which is handling the stalled negotiations.

The women's team has signed off on a deal ensuring it competes in the World Cup, beginning on June 26, despite the current MOU expiring on June 30. However, should a new deal or, at least, a heads of agreement not be completed by the deadline date, they will find themselves in an awkward position, for their male counterparts will be locked out by CA, with many no longer being paid.

Lanning, looking to steer her side to more World Cup glory, said the Stars would not be distracted regardless of any pay machinations.

"It's definitely been spoken about. It's not something you can hide away from. As a squad, once we get over to the UK, we are just focused on playing cricket. Our job and priority is to go over there and play really good cricket and win games," she said on Thursday.

"We won't be distracted by it all. Everything is in place. The ACA and Cricket Australia are talking - everything is fine contract-wise. There is a temporary contract that is going to be in place for the World Cup."

CA's pay offer, on face value, would appear to be lucrative for elite female players, with average annual salaries to leap from $79,000 to $179,000. The average pay for state-based female cricketers will rise from $22,000 to $52,000 at a time when the Women's Big Bash League remains in a fledgling state.

"It's certainly a step in the right direction. We weren't not happy with it, I guess, but ... it's a whole player agreement, and we are fully behind all players, male or female, state, international, so that's where we are at with the players," Lanning said.

A range of issues remain a concern, for the ACA insists all players must share in the percentage-of-revenue model used since 1997. CA only wants internationally contracted male and female to now share in this, and only when dividing surplus funds.

"All the players are behind a revenue-share model for all cricketers. We have been able to stay really strong and we will continue to do that," Lanning said.

On the field, Lanning said the players had worked hard embracing a more aggressive attitude ahead of the World Cup, whether that be scoring quicker at the top of the order or claiming top-order wickets.

The Australians expect the depth of world talent to be greater than it has ever been although - and they won't admit this - they remain the nation to beat.

Champion all-rounder Ellyse Perry has declared herself fully fit and ready to have an impact in her third World Cup, having had a home summer and a short series in New Zealand either interrupted by hamstring, groin or elbow problems.

"She is 100 per cent fit. Obviously, it was a pretty major injury [hamstring] she sustained in the WBBL. She has had some time to get over that. She has been in full training with the squad. She is a key member of our team," Lanning said.

The Stars will have warm-up matches against South Africa (June 20) and Pakistan (June 22) before their campaign officially opens against the West Indies (June 26) in Taunton.
