Sovereign Hill’s Victorian-style buildings will come alive thanks to the magic of large-scale light projections, and children can attempt to catch the gingerbread man as he dashes from building to building.
With more than 20 buildings lit up with yuletide animations and more than 10 kilometres of fairy lights throughout the gardens, this is the largest light projection spectacle ever staged in one site anywhere in Australia.
During the day, visitors can stroll down Main Street as snowflakes fall at regular intervals over the Victorian-style buildings, marvel at the decorations in the windows, smell the Christmas spices in the air, and enjoy the traditional Christmas-themed pantomimes.
As the light fades, Main Street will sparkle as the buildings light up. Visitors will be given a special passport so that they can catch sight of the gingerbread man as he hides within the building projections. It’s a memorable experience for both the young and the young at heart.
Sovereign Hill’s Christmas in July celebrations are on daily from 10am from July 1 to 30. The Winter Wonderlights show will start each evening after 5.45pm.
