Parent company Specialty Fashion Group has leased the former Pumpkin Patch store at 19 Mitchell Street to house not only Rivers, but also Millers and Crossroads.
While Specialty Fashion Group will maintain the existing Rivers store in Hargreaves Street, Millers will move from its current site at Bendigo Marketplace.
Terence Yeh, from real estate agency Fitzroys, said the fashion group was attracted to the site by the ease with which it could be fitted out for multiple brands.
The main road exposure of the site was another inviting factor, Mr Yeh said.
He expects the store will open within the next six to eight weeks.
The space will be leased out for $110,000 net per year, on behalf of a Melbourne-based private investor.
Mr Yeh said the site also attracted the interest of furniture retailers, a pet shop, medical groups and others.
Pumpkin Patch closed after the company went into receivership last year.
