The Thunder, led by another best afield performance from Tiahna Cochrane, defeated the Bears 14.8 (92) to no score.
It was a scoreline that did not reflect how hard the Thunder were made to work, according to second-year coach Cherie O'Neil.
"The Kew girls made us work really hard for it," she said.
The Thunder had winners up forward in Andrea Walsh and Ayrlea Bailey-Mcclanahan, who each finished the match with four goals.
Playing only her second senior game, Molly Metcalf booted two for the Thunder, who had winners all over the ground through ruck Jac Louttit, Grace Campbell and Kerryn Harrington.
O'Neill much of the Thunder's drive had come through its three-way midfield rotation of Cochrane, Aisling Tupper and Kodi Jacques.
"For young girls playing in a women's division, I couldn't ask anymore of them," she said.
O'Neill said the Thunder's latest win was the perfect lead-in to a fortnight of tough matches against nearest rivals Diamond Creek (5-10) and VU Western Spurs (5-0).
Best: Tiana Cochrance, Grace Campbell, Kerryn Harrington, Kodi Jacques, Jac Louttit, Louise Bibby.
Goals: Andrea Walsh, Ayrlea Bailey-Mcclanahan 4; Molly Metcalf 2; Grace Campbell, Louise Bibby, Kerryn Harrington, Kody Jacques 1.
