Millar, now coach of White Hills, will go into battle for the first time against the club he coached to the 2008 Heathcote District league premiership when the Demons host Colbinabbin.
“There’s no doubt Colbo will always hold a special place in my heart, but this week it’s all about getting the four points against them,” Millar said on Friday.
“We can really set our year up if we can win on Saturday, but if we lose we drop back to the pack.”
The Grasshoppers are coached by Nick Knight, who was one of Millar’s team-mates in the 2008 grand final win over Heathcote.
The clash shapes as a pivotal battle in the fight for the double chance with the Demons (4-1) sitting third, while the Grasshoppers (3-3) are fourth and coming off back-to-back losses.
The Demons have lost their past 10 games against the Grasshoppers.
