BENDIGO will receive one of seven new Supercare Pharmacies being opened across the state next month.
The pharmacy will enable residents to access healthcare and advice from pharmacists and nurses late at night.
The pharmacies will open 24 hours a day, every day from June 30.
Supercare Pharmacies will open at Bendigo UFS Pharmacies, Parkmore Pharmacy 4 Less, Coburg Pharmacy 4 Less, Reservoir Pharmacy 4 Less, Balwyn Day + Night Pharmacy, Curlewis Pharmacy 4 Less, and Traralgon Chemist Warehouse.
Victoria's first five 24-hour Supercare Pharmacies were located in Ascot Vale, Craigieburn, Wantirna South, Yarraville and Ballarat.
Supercare Pharmacies provide round-the-clock access to pharmacists for advice, supply of medicines and dispensing prescriptions.
A nurse is on-site from 6pm to 10pm to provide face to face health advice and treatment for minor injuries or illness.
The free nursing service will also assist with wound management, physical assessment, flu and whooping cough immunisations, health screening, sexual advice and referrals to other services.
Supercare Pharmacies do not replace doctors or the need to visit an emergency department.
