Daly, representing Australia, qualified inside the top eight in the men's 50 metres rifle prone competition after elimination matches last Saturday, and qualifying and finals matches on Sunday. He eventually finished seventh.
About 150 shooters contested the event in Munich.
Daly, a two-time national prone champion, out-performed fellow Australian and Olympian Dane Sampson.
The gold medal was won by Rio Olympic silver medallist Jonghyun Kim, from South Korea, ahead of Norway's Stian Bogar, with Austrian Thomas Mathis in third.
More than 750 of the world's best marksmen were in Germany, contesting rifle, pistol and shot-gun events.
Daly was the first Victorian rifle shooter to be representing Australia in more than a decade.
The 28-year-old telco team manager is due back in Bendigo later this week.
