The Dr Harry Little Preschool’s 40th annual fair will raise money for the replacement of the rubber surfacing in the playground, as well as the creation of sensory garden suited for children with special needs, such as those with autism, developmental delays, and visual and sensory impairments.
“We have a very inclusive kindergarten, we have students of all needs and skills, so we want to give all kids the best start,” fair co-ordinator Claire Everton said.
The fair will feature a wide range of activities and games for kids, including a jumping castle, face painting and craft, as well as food and drinks, a raffle and a silent auction.
Ms Everton said the fair last year raised a record $19,000 and if that could be matched this year, she hoped work on the playground would soon get under way.
She said the support from the Bendigo community and businesses was the best in the fair’s history.
“It takes your breath away, the generosity of the Bendigo community,” she said.
The fair will be held at the preschool at 243A View Street this Sunday between 11am and 2pm.
