A three-goal to one second term gave the Pioneers a three goal lead at half-time and they managed to keep the Jets at arms length throughout the second half.
The Pioneers threatened to blow the game open when they led by as much as five goals, but the Jets kept fighting back.
The 12.10 (82) to 9.8 (62) victory was good enough for the Pioneers to jump into eighth spot on the ladder.
Defender Mitch Kemp continued his great form and was named the Pioneers’ best player.
Jacob Atley played his best game of the season, while Bailey Henderson impressed on the wing.
Darby Henderson accumulated plenty of possessions through the middle of the ground and finished off his good work with three goals.
Matt Harvey worked hard through the middle and across half-forward, while skipper Laine Fitzgerald was a four-quarter contributor.
The Pioneers have next weekend off because of national under-18 selection trials. Their next match is against the sixth-placed Dandenong Stingrays at the QEO on Sunday, June 4.
