A 0-5 record doesn’t do justice to how competitive Lockington-Bamawm United has been in the Heathcote District league this year.

The Cats are the only team without a win, but certainly haven’t been the pushover that their winless record may suggest.
In their first three games they were within a kick of their opposition at three quarter-time, but unable to get over the line.
They competed admirably for three quarters against Huntly, and the all-conquering North Bendigo took a half to shake the Cats off last round.
Yet there has been no reward for effort, which coach Peter Gibbs hopes will change on Saturday at home against White Hills.
“It’s just a matter of getting that belief and winning mentality back into the boys, which is difficult when you’ve been down for a while,” Gibbs said.
“A lot of guys haven’t played together before, so it’s taking a bit of time. Probably our best performance so far has been our first half against North Bendigo last round when I thought we stood up really well against a high quality team.
“We’ll be aiming to stand up for four quarters on Saturday.”
