The Amarok was travelling north-east on Jobs Gully Road and had entered the offset intersection when the collision happened.
The sedan, which had no number plates, was travelling downhill on Averys Road and was being driven on an unregistered vehicle permit.
Senior Constable Bernard Monaghan said police were making inquires into what led to the crash and speed was one factor being considered.
The California Gully intersection is one of seven priority spots the City of Greater Bendigo is monitoring.
Ambulance Victoria attended the scene, but none of the three occupants were injured.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call the Eaglehawk police station on 5446 3911.

The incident occurred at the Jobs Gully and Averys roads intersection.
Traffic is not affected.
