The Pioneers won their second game of the season with their 11.13 (79) to 8.10 (58) triumph at the QEO.
“It was a good reward for effort for the boys. We’re really focusing on getting our processes right and we looked like a well-organised footy side today,” Pioneers coach Rick Coburn said.
The Pioneers led by four points at half-time, before gaining the ascendancy in the third term when they added 6.1 to 3.4 to extend their advantage to 19 points at the last change.
The Pioneers straightened up in front of goal after half-time when they kicked 7.5 in the second following an inaccurate 4.8 in the first.
In an even team effort, best players for the Pioneers included Darby Henderson and vice-captain Angus Schumacher, who both played midfield and half-back, second-gamer Austin Mertz in defence and onballer Rourke Turner.
Braydan Torpey kicked three goals.
