Festival promoter Steve Haplin says tens of thousands of people converged on the Prince of Wales Showground for Groovin The Moo.
"(It is) another great crowd – approximately 20,000 people, which is similar to last year," he said.
Mr Haplin put the festival's success down to a strong line-up.
"And people love a road trip. Bendigo is a great place to visit," he said.

Local band Tusk hopes to use the exposure from their Groovin The Moo set as a launching pad for a new album.
The local rock and roll act took to the stage in Bendigo this morning.
Drummer Jaydon Weppner said he picked up some definite good vibes from the crowd.
“A lot of people who were there to see other bands, but they also came and watched us. They liked what we were playing, which was great,” he said.
Lead singer and guitarist John Palmer said people were keen to give him a lot of positive feedback.
“I went out into the crowd after the set and people were coming up to me and saying that was incredible,” he said.
The band was playing at the festival after winning Triple J’s Unearthed competition.
Tusk won one of six slots available to up and coming bands earlier this year.
Mr Weppner thanked Triple J for their support.
“It was great that they put an unheard of band up to play their music. It was pretty special,” he said.
Tusk is recording an album which they expect to finalise in about a month’s time.

Tired festival-goers have a place to sit and chill, get a drink, some sunscreen or information thanks to local youth health group Headspace.
The group is running Groovin The Moo's help desk.
Headspace media officer Richard Hunt said it was a way to get the word out about the group's services.
Headspace specialises in helping people 25-years-old and younger.
This was Mr Hunt's second Groovin the Moo this year, though Headspace will have a presence at every site the festival is run.
"We are getting volunteers out from local centres," he said.
Mr Hunt said festival goers should come check the help desk out.
"We are here all day. We have shade in our chill out area and heaters for later if it gets cold enough," he said.

Revellers have begun streaming out of the Bendigo Train Station for Groovin The Moo.
Two extra train services have been scheduled to leave Melbourne on top of those which regularly roll into the station, with extra services scheduled to head back to the city tonight.
Many of those getting off the train at 9.17am said they were returning to Bendigo Groovin The Moo for the atmosphere, including Macedon’s Shona Mannicky.
“It’s great to be back at the festival,” she said.
“It can be full-on at a lot of the other festivals. Bendigo has a really relaxed vibe.”
Melbourne’s Bobson Berry said he too liked the vibes as he returned for another year.
“And the music is fantastic, yeah,” he said.
The self-confessed music fanatic said he was most looking forward to Methyl Ethel and Milky Chance.
Melbourne’s Elly Purves said there was another reason to go to the festival.
“It’s a great excuse to wear glitter,” she said.
