A CONTINGENT of ten-pin bowlers from Bendigo have helped Victoria win the coveted Junior President’s Shield in Sydney.

The Victorian team included Grace Fahy, Nikaylah Spofforth, Samantha Bramley and Megan Bramley, while a fifth bowler from Bendigo, Maddisyn Lefevre, was part of the ACT team after entering the draft.
Victoria finished second in both the girls and boys divisions, but was the overall winner.
Victoria won with a combined total of 180 points ahead of New South Wales (168.5) and North Queensland (160).
This year’s win was a big improvement for Victoria after it finished fifth in 2016.
Fahy was one of the standout bowlers of the tournament, finishing with the third-highest average in the girls division to earn a spot in the Girls All Star Team.
Fahy was one of five bowlers named in the Girls All Star Team.
As well as the Junior Presidents Shield, the five bowlers from Bendigo all qualifed for the Australian Junior Masters tournament as well.
