The Blues and Reds sit mid-table in the division one championship and both clubs need the three points to stay in touch with competition pacesetters Shepparton United.
The Blues have no shortage of goal scoring firepower.
They’ve scored 20 goals in three games, including 13 against Moama-Echuca last round.
However, as strong as the Blues’ strikers are, the first three rounds has shown they can leak multliple goals.
Golden City put four goals past the Blues in a 4-4 round one draw and Shepparton United scored three times in a 3-3 draw the following week.
Spring Gully’s only win in the opening three games was against bottom club Moama-Echuca, so the Reds need to claim a scalp if they’re going to be regarded as a genuine contender.
Shepparton United should be able to consolidate top spot on the table when it travels to Strathfieldsaye to play Colts United.
Fresh from its stunning 4-3 upset win over Eaglehawk, United should have too much class for Colts.
Eaglehawk should bounce back to the winners’ list when it hosts Moama-Echuca.
The Raiders have conceded 30 goals in three games and the last thing you want against the Hawks is a sub-standard defence.
In the remaining games of the round, Golden City will chase its second-straight win when it hosts Shepparton at Shadforth Park and second place on the ladder is potentially up for grabs when Tatura tackles Shepparton South.
In the women’s championship division, top spot on the ladder is on the line when Colts United plays Shepparton United.
Both teams have nine points from three games, with Shepparton United ahead of Colts on goal difference.
Shepparton United is yet to concede a goal this season and will be a hard nut for Colts to crack.
Strathdale will look to continue its impressive start to the season when it takes on Spring Gully.
Led by teenage sensation Ellie Vlaeminck, the Blues have two wins from three games and will go into the home game with the Reds full of confidence.
Spring Gully was thumped by Epsom in round one, drew with Moama in round two and had the bye last week.
In the remaining games, reigning champion Epsom will have too much class for Swan Hill and Eaglehawk should collect its third win of the year when it plays Moama-Echuca.
