The Bloods need to win, and win well, against a Maryborough team that has lost its past 40 games.
South Bendigo showed against Gisborne last week that it has improved its scoring efficiency in 2017, particularly through the addition of classy forward Kaiden Antonowicz.
While the Magpies have shown signs of improvement in their first two games this season, they will find it hard to stop the Bloods on the wide open spaces of the QEO.
Maryborough’s past three games on the QEO have resulted in defeats to the tune of 133, 150 and 208 points.
Maryborough’s cause hasn’t been helped by Coby Perry’s inclusion in the North Ballarat team to play in the VFL this weekend.
South Bendigo has included teenage midfielder Mitch Goodwin to play his first senior game.
