The Thunder are in their first season in the new competition and started with a bang last Sunday with a 91-point hiding of Darebin at the QEO, led by seven goals on debut from Andrea Walsh.
On Sunday they play their first away game of the season against Melbourne University at Melbourne Uni from noon.
Like the Thunder, Melbourne Uni has joined the NFLW from the premier division in the former Victorian Women’s Football League.
“We’re just putting the feelers out for the first few games to see where we sit. But if the girls play the way they did last weekend and keep our structures solid, we should be able to match it with them,” O’Neill said.
