Sandhurst humiliated the Magpies 32.22 (214) to 2.3 (15) under lights at the QEO.
The Magpies score of 2.3 (15) was their lowest total for at least 39 years and the losing margin was the largest in that same period.
Their previous lowest score was 2.7 (19) against Strathfieldsaye in 2014.
It was the first time the Magpies have been beaten by more than 170 points since round four, 1994, when South Bendigo won 32.18 (210) to 5.6 (36).
It was the first time in eight years Castlemaine has had 200 points kicked against it. The last time the Magpies conceded 200 points was in round 16, 2009, when Golden Square won 30.20 (200) to 8.5 (53).
Castlemaine has now lost its past nine matches against Sandhurst by an average margin of 98.1 points.
The Magpies play Kyneton under lights at Kyneton this Saturday.
