Jaawaa Morgan, 19, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Friday facing 22 charges for traffic offences in Bendigo in February and March, and multiple counts of theft.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody, to next appear in court on May 11.
Morgan was arrested following a police raid on his Energetic Street residence on Thursday morning.
Police had previously called to the public for help in tracking down a man seen terrorising motorists across Bendigo while riding a motorbike. Police allege that man was Morgan.
He has been charged with multiple counts of conduct endangering life.
Police also allege Morgan and another unknown offender stole a number of pythons, a lizard and other animals from a pet store in Echuca.
Police allege Morgan’s blood was found at the scene, injured while smashing glass.
Morgan faced another charge of theft for allegedly stealing a motorbike from a residence in Kangaroo Flat.
He was described as “at risk” in custody due to his young age, and he is withdrawing from drugs and alcohol.
