Bendigo’s torchlight parade is a celebration of what can sometimes get lost in the monotony of everyday life – community, family, and diversity.
Sam Sutherland has braved the early-autumn evening chill for the past 27 years.
“It’s a way of saying thank you to all the emergency services who do such a good job for us, and all the volunteers,” said Ms Sutherland, whose two daughters, Rachell and Crystal marched in the procession for St Luke’s Smart Art.
“I also like to see the the smiles on the kids’ faces,” she said.
