Baldwin was officially named in te 35-member team last this week.
The Bendigo Harriers athlete and University of Melbourne student's selection comes about two weeks after he jumped his way into the Athletics Australia record books.
Competing at the Athletics Australia open and junior track and field titles in Sydney, Baldwin soared to a new national under-20 high jump record and gold medal as he smashed the previous mark.
Baldwin set a new record of 2.22m, surpassing the former mark of 2.18m achieved by Queensland’s Liam Zamel-Paez.
The 19-year-old’s performance also set a new Bendigo open residential record.
The 29th Summer Universiade will be staged between August 19-30.
Fourteen sports will feature across the 12 days including athletics, basketball, fencing, gymnastics, judo, swimming, diving, water polo, soccer, volleyball and taekwondo.
