A dominant Demons defence and four goals from star recruit Bryce Curnow were decisive in the 13.16 (94) to 6.7 (43) win.
Calivil coach Anthony Dennis was pleased with the way the Demons put the Eagles away after half-time.
“The first half was a struggle and at half-time we spoke about playing more positive in the second half,’’ Dennis said.
“We managed to get on top after half-time and probably should have kicked a few more goals.
“We kicked 10 behinds in the second half and some of those were some easy shots that we missed.”
Key defender Alex Davis continued his great start to the season with a best on ground performance.
Midfielder Sam Brinsmead showed why he’s rated so highly by the Demons, while Nathan Ryan and Sam Green also impressed.
Curnow spent time through the midfield and inside forward 50 and kicked four goals.
The Eagles were best served by young defender Bailey Graham and midfielders Travis Mercandante and Matt Roberts. Eagles forward Pat Cummins was shown a yellow card in the second term after an incident with Curnow.
