MORE COVERAGE: Bendigo Easter 2017
CENTRAL Bendigo has become a hive of activity this Easter long weekend.
One of the main attractions is the annual art and craft market, hosted by the Rotary Club of Bendigo Sandhurst.
Assistant market co-ordinator Ted Gretgrix said this year’s market was the biggest ever, with more than 200 stallholders selling their wares on Good Friday.
“People have come from all over, it’s undoubtedly one of the biggest markets on Good Friday,” Mr Gretgrix said.
He said he was impressed by the goods on offer.
“Every year I think the quality of the sites gets better,” he said.
“A lot of stallholders go to a lot of effort to present their stalls, make them attractive.”
Immediate past president Paul Henderson said the money raised from the market would go to range of causes, local, national and international.
Mr Henderson said the club distributed, on average, $50,000 to $60,000 to good causes each year.
Rosalind Park was also busy, with plenty of attractions for families, including a petting zoo, entertainment and arts and crafts among them, as well as the ever-popular SES Easter egg hunt.
