The four-day fair, which has been running for more than 50 years, sees the Tom Tweed Stadium in Mundy Street lined with books of all genres and sizes.
Book fair co-ordinator Colin Lambie estimated about 20,000 books would be on offer, starting from as little as $2.
“We’ve got lots of good quality fiction and non-fiction and even an old and unusual section,” he said.
Friday is the busiest of all the days, with people queuing from 8am to get in the doors at 9am.
“It gets bigger every year,” Mr Lambie said.
“We get terrific support from the community – we’re forever getting phone calls with books to donate.”
The club has raised $96,000 in the past twelve months for local charities and the Easter fair is its biggest event.
The fair runs from 9am to 5pm on Good Friday and Easter Saturday and Sunday, and from 9am-1pm on Easter Monday. Entry is free.
