Kevin Clarke went out to feed his pair of Port Lincoln parrots on Saturday when he noticed they were missing.
The parrots were in a cage in the backyard of his property and police believe the offender gained access to them via a gate at the rear sometime between 9am on Thursday, April 6 and 9am on Saturday, April 8.
Mr Clarke said it made him feel sick realising they had been taken and the thought of where they could be now.
“I try not to think about it,” he said.
“It makes me feel pretty crappy to know someone has also been in my yard.”
The birds are colourful with green, blue and pale blue feathers.
“I liked them as soon as I saw them – that’s why I got them,” Mr Clarke said. “They’re just a pretty bird.”
Mr Clarke has had the pair for almost 12 months and says he now checks his other two birds – Major Mitchell's Cockatoos – nine times a night.
“I’ve got no idea why they stole them,” he said. “Just please return them.”
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Bendigo Police Station on 5448 1300.
