School moves to reassure community
On behalf of my fellow Bendigo South East College councillors I would like to reassure students, parents and the broader community that we are working closely with acting principal Dale Pearce, teachers and support staff to safeguard the direction and shared vision of the school during Ernie Fleming’s absence.

The new school council is working cohesively and remains dedicated to the continual improvement of student outcomes at BSE.
We acknowledge that the reasons for the principal’s absence have been the subject of considerable speculation and discussion. These matters remain private and confidential and are being addressed by the Department of Education and Training.
We are confident that the supports and processes that have been put in place will ensure that all students continue to receive the highest quality of education provided at the college.

Doubts about mall
The Mall can't work. It is too big and stark to fulfill any purpose other than provide a venue for events such as night markets. A more intimate space such as Bath Lane might make a more suitable site for daytime rest and recreation. Having a bus stop attached to the Hargreaves site probably aggravates the problem. Having patrolling uniforms may result in moving "undesirables" along but is not going to help the ambience.

One Nation is no different
What is it about conservative politicians, and that includes Pauline Hanson, as she celebrated One Nation’s 20 year anniversary by banning the ABC from any further interviews because of their four corners investigation into her party, which revealed a complete shemozzle, and her cosy deal with Cormann and Cash which ultimately smashed the WA Liberal party and halved her projected vote as well in the recent election. Her party is not the first, and will not be the last that has been exposed in circumstances that have not suited them at the time.
But unlike Bronwyn Bishop, Hanson has been flying around the country in a single engine plane, that up until now, nobody knows the real owner of, and was allegedly not declared by the party.
So in typical Hanson style, she has banned the ABC for nothing else than revealing this and other anomalies.
Just what did she expect. Does Ms Hanson think that she is different to the rest of us.
Try leaving your light plane off your Pension assets test and see how far you get before all hell breaks loose, and Hank comes down on you like a ton of bricks.
The interesting aspect of this " ban" is there has been no explanation from Ms Hanson to the allegations aired, but simply an indication that she will think about it, and tell us at a later date.
Is that date in the distant future when politicians in similar positions think that the public is no longer interested.
All political parties have been exposed at times which have not suited their strategies, and have no alternative but to ride it out, and except the consequences. One Nation is no different.
One Nation has a unique style that attracts attention by members who consistently make" unusual comments".
That is hardly the media’s fault, as members of opposing parties have also commented on them as well.
When Ms Hanson realises that she is no different to anyone else, the attention her party is currently receiving will subside.
