BENDIGO import C.J. Aiken put on a rebounding clinic in the Braves’ SEABL victory over Sandringham on Friday night.
Aiken hauled down a massive 23 rebounds in the Braves’ 78-63 victory at Sandringham.
Aiken’s 23 rebounds featured 16 defensive and seven offensive, while he also contributed 13 points.
The Braves’ scoring was led by Adam Doyle with 21 points and five assists, while Kevin White scored 16 points.
In his SEABL debut, Lewis Beks – the son of Braves’ 1988 national championship player David Beks – scored three points.
The Braves played without import Dyami Starks, who injured his hamstring in the loss to the Mt Gambier Pioneers the previous week, while co-captains Taylor Bell and Chris Hogan again missed with back injuries.
The Braves made their match-winning break during the second term when they turned a 19-17 lead at quarter-time into a 45-28 advantage at the main break.
