Not only is the 2017 season now just around the corner, but Golden Square’s new lights were turned on for the first time.
With the new lights, for the first time night football will be played at Golden Square’s newly-named Fur Life Oval this year.
The family night included a junior clinic taken by the senior players, as well as a chance for parents to participate in Sport and Life Training (SALT) program and information sessions.
“The junior and senior clubs are working together to make us the best club in Bendigo,” Golden Square senior president Brendan Stewart said.
“To see almost a full list of senior footballers and netballers with the juniors was fantastic and it was a credit to both the junior and senior committees.
“It was also the first time we’d put the lights on at full strength and we are really pleased with the result.”
