The Pioneers and Rebels – formerly the North Ballarat Rebels – will square off at Ballarat’s Alfredton Recreation Reserve from 2.30pm in round two.
“We really love coming up against the other country regions. It’s a great opportunity to showcase yourself against a region that has similar challenges and a similar program, so we are really excited about playing the Rebels,” Pioneers coach Rick Coburn said on Friday.
“We’ve had a good week on the track and are really keen to keep moving forward and developing and taking the opportunity on Sunday.”
The Pioneers were beaten by 51 points by the Murray Bushrangers in their season-opener last week after fading in the final quarter.
Meanwhile, the Pioneers and Rebels’ TAC Cup girls teams will also clash in the curtain-raiser from 11am.
The Pioneers are 0-2, while the Rebels are 1-1.
