The Group 2 winner has banked almost $80,000 in stake money from just 18 race track appearances that have resulted in nine wins and four minor placings.
Trainer Joe Borg has given Promises Kept a freshen up after four below par performances in much stronger company and from box two over the 500m trip he will prove hard to beat.
Talented sprinter Fabstar, winner of 20 of his 52 career starts, is racing well and will prove to be Promises Kept’s main opposition, while Scott It and Militant Chief are capable of making their presence felt.
Punters looking for value can do much worse than supporting Desperado Boy in the sixth event.
Desperado Boy has been placed at his past four outings and has been registering times that will be very competitive in this contest and at odds that are likely to be upwards of $10 he is certainly worth an each way investment.
The best bet of the meeting appears in race eight box eight Snoop Junior.
Already a 23.83 winner at Bendigo, Snoop Junior was outstanding last start when second behind flying sprinter Aussie Infrared at Warrnambool and he looks a class above his rivals.
