The retired nurse was initially doubtful she would be able to do the poses.
At 67, she’s now a yoga teacher.
An eagerness to promote the accessibility of yoga has guided her interests in restorative yoga and chair yoga.
Chair yoga will be among the activities offered at a wellbeing summit for women over 50 at Crusoeden Body Wellness, where Margaret teaches.
The summit is $30 and runs from 9:30am –1pm on April 5.
It follows a weekend filled with yoga, as the city hosts its first festival from April 1-2.
Bendigo Yoga Festival creator Rosie Richards said the event enabled the city’s yoga instructors and business to connect with the wider community.
“The Bendigo Yoga Festival offers you a chance to sample a wide range of experiences with interactive workshops of different styles of yoga, soundbaths and mindfulness classes,” she said.
“It’s a festival for nurturing yourself so you can embrace the future.”
