Year 11 and 12 students from the VCE performance subject kept their peers entertained during the lunchtime break with a number of rock hits.
The event is hoped to become a regular event in the school’s cafe plaza, which is also the former Bendigo Gaol.
Teacher Peter Butler said some of the 23 students who performed were regular performers around the city.
“The whole idea is that this will become an annual event,” he said. “It’s just a perfect little stage, so we thought why not make use of the environment for a band.”
The concert was coordinated by guitar teacher Ashley Bird.
A number of the students will also perform at the Bendigo Senior Secondary College’s upcoming mid year winter concert.
