Mott is among a team of judoka selected by the Judo Federation of Australia to compete in two Cadet European Opens in Russia this weekend and the Czech Republic on April 8 and 9.
“Louis earned selection after his performances at the ACT Judo Open, Queensland Judo Open and an AIS camp,” Judo Bendigo president David Mott said this week.
“The athletes have been identified by the group of coaches as showing capabilities to successfully participate in the two tournaments.
“Louis and the other athletes will have a very high chance to qualify for the cadet World Championships in Chile, South America, later in the year.”
Meanwhile, Judo Bendigo head coach Ben Donegan has been selected as the coach of the Australian Judo team for this year’s Commonwealth Youth Games being held in the Bahamas from July 19 to 23.
“This adds to Ben’s impressive coaching resume,” Mott said.
