The Suns overcame a horror start with the bat to reel in Sandhurst’s total of 9-127 for the loss of six wickets.
The Suns slumped to 3-2 early on Sunday and an upset result looked on the cards.
However, a captain’s knock from Clohesy and fine support play from Matt Long dug the Suns out of trouble.
They put on 84 for the fourth wicket before Long fell for 29.
With eight runs needed for victory, Clohesy was dismissed for a superb 76 off 119 balls. The Suns won in the 44th over.
On Saturday, Sandhurst looked set to post a score of 150-plus when it cruised to 1-62.
However, Vlaeminck turned the momentum of the game in three balls.
The off-spinner had Campbell Maltby trapped in front for 17, he clean bowled Will Keck for a first ball duck and completed his hat-trick by clean bowling Jack Ryan for a golden duck.
Vlaeminck, who finished with 4-17, also took the key wicket of Dragons’ star Darby Semmens for a well-made 41.
Meanwhile, Eaglehawk won its 14th second XI premiership in 32 years when it defeated White Hills.
The Borough scraped their way to 8-134 off 85 overs, thanks largely to veteran duo Shane Taylor (34) and Cameron King (32).
The Demons, who bowled 40 maidens, were best served by skipper Linc Jacobs (3-43).
In reply, White Hills made a solid but unspectacular start to be 1-23.
However, the Demons’ top and middle-order crumbled under pressure and they lost 7-16 to be 8-39. Teenager Josh Williams, son of Eaglehawk great Neil Williams, was the destroyer for the Hawks, taking 3-6 off eight overs.
Nick Wharton (27 not out) battled hard, but the Demons were eventually bowled out for 80. Eaglehawk skipper Sam Fitt took 2-21 off 16 overs.
Sandhurst dominated the third XI grand final against Bendigo United at Kangaroo Flat.
The match was virtually decided 10 overs into the Redbacks’ innings after they crashed to be 6-5.
Experienced Sandhurst duo Quinton Bentley (4-13) and Mark Keck (3-15) tore through the Bendigo United line-up.
It took a gutsy innings of 49 from Adrian Cronin to lift the Redbacks to a final total of 97.
On Sunday, Sandhurst made light work of the run chase.
The Dragons crunched 54 runs off the first eight overs before cruising to a seven-wicket win in the 27th over.
Matt Felini made a quickfire 54 off just 51 balls, while opening partner Keck capped a fine all-round game with 22 off 26 balls.
